Um das Ziel geschlossener Wertstoffkreisläufe zu erreichen müssen Abfälle und Abwasser als sekundäre Rohstoffquellen in urbanen und industriellen Bioraffinerien erschlossen werden. Die Fachinitiative vernetzt Akteure, fördert den Austausch von Erkenntnissen und identifiziert neue Technologien für modulare Ansätze.

CO2 ist nicht nur ein Treibhausgas, der enthaltene Kohlenstoff ist auch ein wichtiger Rohstoff für die Industrie.

Der Innovationhub CCUBIO vernetzt Akteure aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft und trägt dazu bei biologische und hybride Verfahren des CO2-Recyclings in die Anwendung zu bringen.

Die Start-up Initiative Bioökonomie, ist ein Netzwerk von Akteuren unterschiedlicher Branchen mit dem Ziel das Ökosystem Bioökonomie für Gründer in Baden-Württemberg weiterzuentwickeln. Hierfür werden organisationsübergreifende Themenstellungen bearbeitet und Maßnahmen entwickelt.

Das Projekt „urban BioÖkonomieLab“ widmet sich der Implementierung der nachhaltigen Bioökonomie in Strukturen urbaner sowie industrieller Räume. Etabliert wird ein Transformationsmodell und ein Reallabor, um Maßnahmen für eine nachhaltige Gestaltung von Städten und der kommunalen Industrie zu entwickeln. 

Damit die biologische Transformation der Wirtschaft gelingt müssen Forschungsergebnisse wirkungsvoll bekannt gemacht und in die Anwendung gebracht werden. Der Translationshub ValBio-Urban vernetzt Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft und trägt dazu bei diese Translation bioökonomischer Verfahren und Produkte erfolgreich zu gestalten. 

Bauwert_BW aims to disseminate knowledge about biobased, regional, and circularly oriented construction materials to take bioeconomic construction from market niche to mainstream. Regional workshops and the distribution of manuals and fact sheets strive to provide guidance. Consulting and matchmaking between construction companies and suppliers supports the expansion of the construction materials market.

BioCyclesRN supports the bioeconomy in the metropolitian region of Rhein-Neckar. The goal of the project is the circular usage of biogenic residues. Systematic capture of biogenic residues from industry and agriculture enable the establishment of sustainable value chains and a circular economy. Actors from business and academia are connected and work together to identify practical valuation concepts. This allows for the generation of economic and ecologic advantages for regional actors.   

The Virngrund in Ostalbkreis is a heavily wooded region, which for centuries has been shaped by the timber industry. BIOVIR has the goal of establishing a regional cluster, that sparks technological innovation and builds synergies between industry, academia, and education. Cooperation makes knowledge more accessible and implementable, to secure sustainable provision and utilization of regional biomass. The aim is to establish the region as model for a sustainable and renewable economy.

Based on the bioeconomy concept introduced in 2024 by the Alb-Donau-Kreis, the BÖKADO project aims to advance the implemention of bioeconomical proposals. A material stream and stakeholder analysis is used to create a foundation of data, which bring innovations into real world applications.  Beyond that, thematic task forces will be established for the fields of biogas, vegetable carbon, and wood usage.

KIRBE uses artificial intelligence to identify and valuate bioeconomical business models for rural areas. Challenges such as the lack of transparency and the validation of value chains will be addressed. Digital modelling tools help to determine economical and ecological benefits for all involved partners. The goal is to support the implementation of bioeconomy business models and the development of regional bioeconomy strategies..

RE2combine is a regional network for the valuation of biobased raw materials and residues in the TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe. Investigation of value chains and targeted exchange formats will identify biobased raw materials and residues in the food, timber, paper, and bioenergy industries and propel the usage of innovative products.

TransBioST is developing new approaches for food systems and foodstuffs of the future. Beyond that, the entire food value chain is being considered to achieve a sustainable transformation of food systems, to better integrate concepts for the implementation of the circular economy, and to build tighter cooperation between business and academia.
